Story Decorating Group has taken top honours at a prestigious National Award ceremony which recognises the best UK family businesses.
In the ‘virtual’ awards ceremony held live online we took the national Property & Construction crown at the ‘Family Business of the Year Awards’. The awards celebrate family owned businesses across the UK, recognising the contribution they make in terms of employment, income generation and wealth creation and a chance to really put family businesses on the map.
As Paul Andrews, Founder and CEO of FBU explained, “Story Decorating is a great example of a family firm looking to the future with strong leadership, continued growth and strategic direction from the current generation at the helm. Good management, innovative solutions to challenges and clear communication are at the core of this family owned business”.
Story Decorating Group was recognised for their core qualities and pride in what they do and for the good balance of family and business, governance and their strong desire to succeed. “The business took the national Property & Construction title and were worthy winners of the accolade” concluded Paul.
The current generation, Rob and Claire Story took over the business following the retirement of the founder, Rob’s father, who started the business back in 1974. Their vision is to establish Story Decorating as the UK’s leading independent decorating contractor with quality at the heart of everything that they do.
