This was the first Yotel in Britain, although a worldwide brand, the concept of which is based on travel and aims to “translate the language of luxury airline travel into small but luxurious cabins”.
The job consisted of an existing office building, in the heart of Edinburgh city centre, over 7 levels with a small amount of external works to also complete. 260 bedrooms would be created together with bars and restaurants and a gym.
The projects location left us with many logistical difficulties including nowhere to park for our site team but also nowhere for deliveries to be taken unless a specific schedule was made and hit perfectly.
This was a large project for the team with our own project manager, 6 tapers and jointers and 9 decorators, including an apprentice.
The Dulux specified project looks fantastic and was handed over to the client successfully with a very happy end user.
