Project Summary

We were appointed by Morgan Sindall to undertake internal painting and decorating works to a brand new School of Science, Engineering & Environment at Salford University.

Our scope of works within this newly constructed University building included classrooms, corridors, open spaces, a large atrium, large workshop areas, food courts & a feature staircase.

On this project we worked alongside Dulux Trade in introducing several of their new high-performance products to market, which included Dulux Airsure Matt which features their signature clean air technology and Dulux Trade Ultra Matt which gives excellent coverage and a sharp finish but also has excellent durability.

There were also a number of special features to decorate on this project, including a feature staircase in the atrium which utilised colour blocking to highlight the geometric design and which, once completed really gave the wow factor. We also masked up and sprayed a large amount of  exposed structural steelwork, which required precision so that the yellow paint did not bleed onto the sharp black ceilings.

Some of the challenges on this particular project included the high-level work where access required use of a Spider lift work platform to carry out the decoration, which our team received specialist training to operate.

With a demanding programme, our professional Story management team took a proactive approach & worked with Morgan Sindall to negate any potential delays, culminating in the delivery of a high-quality finish within deadline.
