Project Summary

Creating a new school of Science, Engineering & Environment our works to this new build university building included classrooms, corridoors, open spaces, a large atrium, large workshop areas, food courts & a feature staircase.

One of the exciting parts of this project was working alongside Dulux trade to bring some new products to market-these included airsure matt which has clean air technology & Dulux trade ultra matt which leaves a sharp finish but also has excellent durability.

Special features include a staircase in the atrium which once completed really had the wow factor-there was also a lot of exposed yellow steel near the black ceilings we sprayed which needed expertly masked up to ensure there was no paint overspill.

Difficulty’s we encountered across the project were access-as the building was so high a special spider access machine was brought in to reach difficult areas in the atrium  & operatives had to be specially trained to drive the machine.

As always programme was key but the Story team took a proactive approach & worked with Morgan Sindall to negate any potential delays

Special mention to all SDG operatives involved in the project as it was a very smooth and clean finish with some difficult colours to cut in to ensure the project looked sharp throughout.
